The Project

Apartment List are an American rental app who wanted to be the first place that comes to mind when people are thinking about that next big move.

Unfortunately, they’re up against apartments.com, who not only have a similar name, but also have that cool dude from Jurassic Park as their brand spokesperson.


The Outcome

They needed a campaign that clearly set them apart from the competition, which came from the latter part of their name.  

In order to hammer home the “list” aspect, we created a 30s ad in the form of a music video – where up-and-coming hip-hop star Bee Simms brought her A-List game to the table. And the laundry room. And the kitchen floor.

By positioning Apartment List as the A-List way to rent we managed to raise revenue by 50%, prompting the brand to take the campaign national.
