The Project
With post academy life often hindered by little-to-no education and often left in a foreign country. The odds of incarceration, addiction, and even suicide skyrocket.
West Ham United offer a second chance with an academy that invites players from all backgrounds to continue their learning on the pitch, and in the classroom. Some of these players have further beaten the odds by now not only playing professionally, but even internationally.
We wanted to document this incredible East London incentive by bringing to life a full academic year and football season, following the stories of 15 incredible young lads.
The Annoying Bit
Covid hit, and we had to pause filming during the academic year.
We’re hoping to reset production and release the full series as soon as possible.
